Day 5 – The 50 Day Change Challenge – Friend or Foe?

Welcome back. Day 5 and I’m guessing that by now you’ve started to get into the groove of getting nearer the goals you set for your challenge.

Still don’t have everything in place? Don’t worry, there’s still time. Don’t let perfection stop you from starting. There’s no better place to start than at the beginning.

This is the time you’re going to need outside support so it’s important that you have the right people around you, who can help nurture your goals. So how do you sustain a positive and life giving environment around you?

Do an audit of the people around you by asking yourself…

1. Are they adding value to my life?
2. Are they celebratory when I have a success?
3. Are their words life giving?
4. When I leave their presence do I feel energised or do I feel like crawling under the nearest rock?

If the answer to these questions are no, then it’s time to do a relationship check up. You will never be successful at your goals if you hang around the wrong people.

If you’re working on building a healthier marriage, hanging around a bunch of party animal single folk who have no intention of taking the plunge, will eventually take a toll on your family commitment.

If you’re trying to kick start your career or embark on a new business idea, you probably don’t want to spend your time around people who make it their business to profess the doom and gloom of the global economical crisis.

And those of you who are on this challenge to shed a few pounds will want to watch out for the ‘All You Can Eat’ Brigade. You know the ones who know you’ve changed your health habits, but still insist on inviting you to all the latest ‘Foodie’ parties in town.

Whatever, the goals you’re trying to reach or the life changes you’re making. Environment is everything! So make sure that yours is one that gives you loads of breathing space to grow and develop.
